Job Safety Analysis (JSA) Builder
A free form for writing a Job Safety Analysis, also called a Job Hazard Analysis. You break a job into steps, list the hazards for each step, assign controls, and print the result or save it as a PDF.
There is no calculation. The builder uses the usual three-column JSA layout: job step, potential hazards and recommended controls, with a header for the job, location, who prepared it, the date and the required PPE. It runs in your browser and needs no sign-up. Write the steps in the order the job is actually done, keep each step to a single action, and prefer controls higher on the hierarchy (elimination and engineering before PPE). It is a starting template and does not replace your site's JSA procedure.
How to use it
- Enter the job or task, the location, who prepared the JSA, the date and the required PPE.
- For each job step, describe what is done, what could go wrong and how it is prevented.
- Add or remove steps until the whole job is covered.
- Select Print / Save as PDF, then have a supervisor review it and the crew sign off before work starts.
